At the end of 'The Two Sources of Morality and Religion' (1932), the French philosopher Henri Bergson (1858-1941) described the essential function of the universe as a machine for the making of gods. It is in our nature to not be fixed by our nature. This is the human condition. We need both creative and moral effort to meet the challenges of our times. As a philosopher I assist in aligning both personal and organisational goals with the complex demands faced by contemporary society.
